Lieutenant Chris Suarez began his career with the Boca Raton Police Services Department in 2001. He worked in the Field Services Division and in 2004, became a Field Training Officer. In 2007, he was transferred to the Investigative Services Bureau where he served as a Property Crimes Investigator, Auto Theft Investigator and as a Persons Crime Investigator. During his time as a detective, he was assigned to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Multi Agency Gang Task Force as the Department’s gang liaison and he worked as part of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Auto Theft Task Force from 2008-2010.
Lieutenant Suarez was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2014 and was assigned as a supervisor in the Field Services Division. In 2015, he was transferred to the Professional Standards Bureau where he supervised the Recruiting Unit, Internal Affairs and Police Explorers. In 2019 Lieutenant Suarez was promoted to his current rank and returned to the Field Services Division to oversee the Bravo Odd Platoon.
Lieutenant Suarez has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida. He has been a member of the Department’s Honor Guard Team.
Lieutenant Suarez has been recognized twice as Officer of the Month and has received numerous Meritorious Service and Unit Citation awards. Lieutenant Suarez was the 2012 Police Officer of the Year.
