Captain Douglas J. Immler began his career with the Boca Raton Police Services Department in 2008. He has worked in the Field Services Division as a patrol and Tactical Team officer. During his time as a Tactical Team officer, he was assigned to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Gang Task Force Juvenile Arrest and Monitoring Unit. Captain Immler was later assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau’s Major Crimes Unit as an investigator. Captain Immler was promoted to sergeant in 2017, where he served in the Field Services Division as a midnight shift sergeant, and later in the Investigative Services Bureau as a Tactical Team supervisor. In 2019, Captain Immler was promoted to lieutenant, initially serving as a midnight shift watch commander and later supervised the Administrative Section. In 2022, Captain Immler was promoted to his current position and currently commands the Support Services Bureau. In addition, Captain Immler is the commander of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Team.

 Captain Immler received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice (graduating Magna Cum Laude) from Florida Atlantic University and a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of South Florida.

 Captain Immler has been recognized as Officer of the Month, been awarded two Lifesaving Awards, has received multiple Unit Citations, and was a recipient of the Administrative Excellence Award. In 2012, as a member of the Tactical Team, the team was selected as the City of Boca Raton's Team of the Year. Captain Immler’ s professional affiliations include the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Florida Police Chiefs Association, the Police Executive Research Forum, and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association.
