    Dr. Candace Cunningham presents her current research for her manuscript on African American teachers who were in the long Civil Rights Movement. Candace Cunningham is an Assistant Professor of History at Florida Atlantic University. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D from the University of South Carolina. Her research is on the 20th century African American experience with a special emphasis on civil rights, education, gender and the South.
