The Education Task Force reviews the status of City public school facility capacity, construction and renovation and reports their findings and recommendations to the City Council. The Task Force is comprised of seven (7) members who are City residents, at least three (3) of whom have children attending public school, grades K-12, in the City.

Prepare to be captivated by the dramatic new photo exhibit, “The World, My Lens and I,” by Diane DeQuevedo Klein! Enjoy a diverse and stunning array of photographs depicting the people and landscapes in our world. DeQuevedo Klein studied and taught philosophy at the university level and then worked in business before finding fulfillment as a photographer. “A photograph captures a discrete moment in time. When I photograph people, I hope to capture a decisive moment about what it is to be a person, to feel like a person, or to be a person among other people,” notes DeQuevedo Klein. “Nevertheless, the world being as diverse and interesting as it is, I am equally drawn to an architectural detail, a field of grass, or an urban landscape.” The exhibit will run from March 3–April 28, 2019, at the Downtown Library, an Art in Public Places venue, at 400 NW 2nd Avenue. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours.

Stories are everywhere. And because we are all human, we are all storytellers. But what makes some people more fun and fascinating to listen to than others? This lively 10-hour workshop will give you plenty of tips and techniques, as well as deep coaching and listening time, to sharpen your storytelling skills for socializing, business, entertainment and other purposes. Taught by Caren S. Neile, Ph.D., MFA, who has taught storytelling studies at FAU since 2001.

The course will also explain how to remove items to edit and fix images using the healing brush and other similar tools.
