Join us on our next adventure – Flamingo Gardens: Botanical Gardens & Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary. Guests will start their experience with a Garden Tour featuring hundreds of native and exotic trees, accented with lush under-story plantings, ponds, streams and waterfall. This will be followed by a visit to the Historic Wray Home which was built by Floyd L. and Jane Wray in 1933 on Long Key, a unique native hammock. After an animal visit and a narrated tram tour, guests will enjoy lunch. Following your delicious lunch, you will experience an exciting Wildlife Encounter show, visit the Aviary and spend a little time in the gift shop! This trip includes a narrated guided tour, lunch and round-trip motor coach transportation to and from Patch Reef Park. Please arrive at Patch Reef Park for check-in by 8:30am, where light refreshments are offered prior to boarding the motor coach to the museum.

Prepare to be captivated by the dramatic new photo exhibit, “The World, My Lens and I,” by Diane DeQuevedo Klein! Enjoy a diverse and stunning array of photographs depicting the people and landscapes in our world. DeQuevedo Klein studied and taught philosophy at the university level and then worked in business before finding fulfillment as a photographer. “A photograph captures a discrete moment in time. When I photograph people, I hope to capture a decisive moment about what it is to be a person, to feel like a person, or to be a person among other people,” notes DeQuevedo Klein. “Nevertheless, the world being as diverse and interesting as it is, I am equally drawn to an architectural detail, a field of grass, or an urban landscape.” The exhibit will run from March 3–April 28, 2019, at the Downtown Library, an Art in Public Places venue, at 400 NW 2nd Avenue. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours.

This lively 10-hour workshop will give you plenty of tips and techniques, as well as deep coaching and listening time, to sharpen your storytelling skills for socializing, business, entertainment and other purposes. Taught by Caren S. Neile, Ph.D., MFA, who has taught storytelling studies at FAU since 2001.
