Special Magistrates conduct hearings related to enforcement of various fire, building, zoning, sign and other codes of the City, in order to protect and improve the health, safety and welfare of the citizenry. Special Magistrates also hear appeals of parking fines.

The Executive Employees' Retirement Plan provides certain retirement and death benefits to eligible executive employees of the City.

The Business Improvement District Steering Committee (BID) is comprised of 5 members who currently serve on the Downtown Boca Raton Advisory Committee (DAC). The BID was established to investigate the feasibility of a Downtown Boca Business Improvement District in order to provide a supplemental method of making municipal improvements in the downtown. Such improvements include, but are not limited to, promotion and marketing, parking options and a transportation/shuttle system.

Organized in 1978 to provide safe and affordable low income housing in the City, the Housing Authority now operates as an independent agency.

Upon appeal by a petitioner, the Builders' Board may grant a variance from the building code, in any particular case when enforcement would be contrary to the spirit and purpose of the building codes or public interest.
