The Planning and Zoning Board monitors and oversees the effectiveness of the Comprehensive Plan. The Board holds public hearings twice monthly to hear all matters pertaining to development within the City and makes recommendations to the City Council.

The Environmental Advisory Board provides advice to the Planning and Zoning Board and to the City Council on the environmental impact of proposed development, including public works, within the City's jurisdiction, and recommends ways in which adverse environmental impacts might be minimized.

Socrates Cafe gatherings are held around the world, where people from different backgrounds get together and exchange thoughtful ideas and experiences. Persons attending gatherings engage in a common quest for a better understanding of human nature, and in the process strive for a more inclusive world. Socrates Cafe gatherings are free and open to any member of the public who wishes to freely discuss a question which is chosen by vote.

Join FAU’s Behnaz Ghoraani, Ph.D., as she shares the latest information and research in “Technology for Improving Healthcare and Treatment.” Dr. Ghoraani will present her team’s novel engineering solutions to address the need for individualized therapeutic approaches in chronic diseases that occur more frequently as people age, such as atrial fibrillation and Parkinson’s disease.
