  1. Animal Adventure Day Camp Day 2

    January 3, 2019, 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM @ Gumbo Limbo Nature Center

    Join us during Fall Break to explore topics in science and nature. Register for one, two, or all three days! Sign-up for each day individually. Jan 2 - Day 1 - Shark Science: Find out about the fascinating lives of sharks. We will have a fun day of shark themed games and lessons, and even get up close with our stingrays. Jan 3 - Day 2- Animal Anomalies: Platypuses, pangolins, penguins and more! We’ll learn all about special animals with amazing adaptation combinations. Jan 4 - Day 3- Sensational Sea Turtles: Come discover why Florida is so important to these fascinating marine reptiles, and see them up close in our Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Facility. Ages: Grades 3-5

  2. Children's Winter Fair

    Enjoy the winter break from school. Free entrance to the park, entertainment and arts & crafts. Individual ride tickets $5 each or you may purchase a bracelet for $20 to enjoy unlimited rides during the event. Offering TONS of fun for children ages 2-12.   3. Guided Nature Walks

    January 3, 2019, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Gumbo Limbo Nature Center

    Join us for a FREE guided walk along the Ashley Trail, a quarter-mile natural trail that winds through the Butterfly Garden, Coastal Hammock, and Mangroves, to a sandy beach by the Intracoastal. Observe local flora and fauna as your naturalist guides you on this island exploration. No reservations required. Meet on the front porch of the Nature Center. Ages: All ages; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

  4. Seining the Lagoon

    January 3, 2019, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM @ Gumbo Limbo Nature Center

    Wading in the Intracoastal Waterway just behind Gumbo Limbo, we catch (and release) fish, shrimp, crabs, and more! With hand-held dip nets and large seine nets, get up close and personal with our local marine life. Closed-toe shoes required (old sneakers or water shoes; no sandals). Bring a change of clothes and towel. Ages 10-adult; children under 18 must sign-up and participate with an adult. Reservations required. Programs are subject to cancellation if a minimum sign-up is not reached 48 hours before the start of the program. Program is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.

  1. Photo Exhibit: "Pride & Honor" by Veronique Viardin

    The Boca Raton Public Library is pleased to announce a new photo exhibit by Veronique Viardin called “Pride & Honor: Native-American Indian Portraits” at the Downtown Library. Visitors will enjoy a spirited collection of black-and-white portraits depicting modern-day faces of Native-American Indians. These stunning photographs were taken at a pow-wow ceremony where Native-American Indians united to celebrate their heritage with feasting, singing and dancing. French-Puerto Rican photographer Veronique Viardin is inspired by nature and the human condition. Driven by her curiosity, sense of wonder and love of art, she is inspired to create fine-art photography saturated with equal parts beauty and emotion. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours.

    Become familiarized with the Photoshop interface, including toolbar, menu, panels and palettes. Learn how to cut out objects, which selection tool to use when, and how to refine your selection. Become familiar with creating new documents and moving images from one to another.
