The Beautification Committee is an independent group of resident volunteers; members are not appointed by the City Council. Its mission is to promote higher standards of landscape design, encourage an increase in the City’s tree canopy, and educate residents in the proper selection, pruning and care of trees. The Art in Public Places Advisory Board reviews and recommends to the City Council policies, programs and actions regarding art in the public realm. The Board is comprised of seven (7) members who are residents of the City with knowledge, experience or an interest in art.

The Marine Advisory Board was established February 27, 2001 to advise the City Manager on issues relating to the City’s Waterways and marine issues including but not limited to speed zones, environmental issues, recreational facilities, dredging, etc.

The Boca Raton Public Library is pleased to present an art exhibit by Galal Ramadan: “Elements of Art & Life.” Visitors to the Downtown Library will view a variety of colored-pencil drawings in a photo-realistic style.
Born in Alexandria, Egypt, Galal Ramadan emigrated to the United States in 1985 and now resides in Boca Raton. His artwork reveals his fascination with natural and cultural matters, along with his appreciation of basic elements of art and life. These beautiful images reflect the artist’s attention to the minutest details and love of color.
“Elements of Art & Life” will run from September 1–November 9, 2018, at the Downtown Library, an Art in Public Places venue, at 400 NW 2nd Avenue. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours.

The Boca Raton Public Library will host a free information event for veterans of all ages at the Spanish River Library on September 5, 2018 from 11:00am-1:00pm. Since November 2016, the BRPL’s Military Intel programs have provided veterans and their families with information about benefits, counseling, jobs and more. Presenters include: Pompano Beach Vet Center, PBC Division of Human & Veteran Services; Connected Warriors, Inc. Each organization will present for 20 minutes followed by Q&A.
