  1. Art Exhibit: "Abstract Realities" by Daniel Reed and Eve Teitelbaum Reed

    The Boca Raton Public Library is pleased to exhibit “Abstract Realities,” by married artists Daniel Reed and Eve Teitelbaum Reed. Visitors to the Downtown Library will view a variety of paintings that showcase their unique abstract and colorful styles. “This show highlights the paintings of a couple who are working artists,” notes Neil Schulhoff, Program Services. “Living and working together, one can see their material start to blend, but also juxtapose. The representational becomes abstract, and the abstract becomes more lifelike.” “Abstract Realities” will run from March 26–April 27, 2018, at the Downtown Library, an Art in Public Places venue, at 400 NW 2nd Avenue. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours.

  2. Touch a Truck

    April 14, 2018, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Spanish River Library

    Round up the whole family to see, climb aboard and learn about our City’s many fascinating trucks and vehicles. Find out why they are all such an important part of our community. This family event will take place in the Spanish River Library parking lot at 1501 NW Spanish River Blvd. Truck operators will be on hand to demonstrate how their vehicles work and explain what they do. Trucks and vehicles from the police department, fire department, municipal services, utility services and recreation services will be on display. Check out a fire engine, sanitation truck, aerial bucket truck, dump truck, beach tractor, rescue boat and much more! Visitors are also invited inside the library for special story times and coloring pages featuring the trucks on display. No enrollment is required. The program will take place rain or shine! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

  3. Story Central: "I'll Give You a Day," with Derek Coghlan

    BRPL continues its 2018 Story Central theme, "Discover Your Stories," with a performance by Derek Coghlan, a storyteller and educator from Castlepollard, Ireland. He shares five stories on subjects ranging from Stephen King to funerals to after-hours clubs in Mississippi. They reflect the days that, when he looks back with the piercing 20/20 clarity of hindsight, changed his, and maybe your, life forever.
