The Boca Raton Public Library is pleased to present a new art exhibit, “Soul Doodles.” These abstract paintings are anchored in the sometimes comedic but always earnest reality of artist Scott Jeffries. After years of practicing law in Philadelphia, Jeffries moved to Boca Raton to pursue his true passion as an artist. As he developed his technique, his abstract tendency became more pronounced: trees transformed into wisps of color; bodies simplified into shapes; fish turned into loud, neon personalities; faces, just splashes of primary color. Ultimately, Jeffries’ painting is an irreverent expression of his sub-conscious, an invitation into his brain where space and form are imagined from a decidedly different angle.
