  1. Cuts Across the Land: Collage Exhibit by Richard Vergez

    Richard Vergez is a Cuban-American visual artist whose background in graphic design and audio/visual collaboration is reflected through his handmade collaged works on paper and mixed media. His art has been featured at No Romance Galleries in NYC, Chicago Urban Arts Society and Kids of Dada in London, as well as numerous blogs and international publications. "Abstract structures, negative space, found objects, and geometrical figures are prominent in my work," notes Vergez. "I explore the way shapes interact with each other, and how they interact with the empty space around them."

    In this hands-on workshop, Richard Vergez, a Cuban-American visual artist whose background is in graphic design and audio/visual collaboration, will discuss the art, inspiration and technique of collage. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own collage with materials provided by the library. Vergez's exhibit, “Cuts Across the Land,” will also run from June 8-July 31 at the Downtown Library
