The Beautification Committee is an independent group of resident volunteers; members are not appointed by the City Council. On February 22, 2020, the City’s newest park will officially open, where the community will gather to play, recreate, and enjoy nature! Following the official ribbon cutting, friends and neighbors can explore and enjoy the brand new 10,000 square foot playground, join in on a pick-up basketball, pickleball, or volleyball game, launch their kayak or paddleboard, or wander the pristine grounds of the park. The celebration will include FREE face painting and bounce houses, food trucks, music, and more!
A ribbon cutting ceremony will precede the celebration at 9:30am. The ceremony will feature remarks by City of Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer, Recreation Services Director Michael J. Kalvort, and Boca Raton Parks & Recreation Board Chair Dr. Dennis R. Frisch. A corresponding ribbon cutting and plaque unveiling for the Joe Good Playground will take place after the official park ribbon cutting.
Both events are free and open to the public.

February 25's speaker is Whitney Crowder, Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Coordinator, Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. Whitney has been the Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Coordinator for Gumbo Limbo Nature Center since 2015 and has been working in the conservation field for almost 20 years. She will share the history of Gumbo Limbo’s Sea Turtle Rehabilitation and our plans for an amazing future.
