Lieutenant Douglas J. Immler began his career with the Boca Raton Police Services Department in 2008. He has worked in the Field Services Division as a patrol and Tactical Team officer. During his time as a Tactical Team officer, he was assigned to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Gang Task Force Juvenile Arrest and Monitoring Unit. Lieutenant Immler was later assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau’s Major Crimes Unit as an investigator. Lieutenant Immler was promoted to sergeant in 2017, where he served in the Field Services Division as a midnight shift sergeant, and later in the Investigative Services Bureau as a Tactical Team supervisor. In 2019, Lieutenant Immler was promoted to his current position, initially serving as a midnight shift watch commander. In 2020, Lieutenant Immler was assigned to the Support Services Bureau in Administration. In addition, he is a member and Commander of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Team.

Lieutenant Immler received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice (graduating Magna Cum Laude) from Florida Atlantic University and a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of South Florida.


Lieutenant Immler has been recognized as Officer of the Month, been awarded two Lifesaving Awards, and has received multiple Unit Citations. In 2012, as a member of the Tactical Team, the team was selected as the City of Boca Raton's Team of the Year.
