Captain Steve Meyer began his career with the Boca Raton Police Services Department in 1997 as a patrol officer, eventually becoming a field training officer. In 2001, he transferred to the Investigative Services Bureau, where he conducted investigations involving property, economic and persons related crimes. In 2004, he was assigned to the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office Money Laundering Task Force and a year later to the Organized Crime Unit. In 2007, he was promoted to Sergeant and was assigned to the Field Services Division. In 2008, he returned to the Investigative Services Bureau to supervise the major crimes section. In 2015, he was promoted to Lieutenant and was assigned to the Strategic Operations Section. In 2017, he was promoted to Captain, and has since held command positions in Field Services, Special Services, and currently the Investigative Services Bureau.
Captain Meyer received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University in 1995 and his Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Management in 2019 from Lynn University. He also attended the FDLE Florida Leadership Academy.
