September is Library Card Sign-Up Month

Mayor promoting library card sign up month and two new card designs featuring wildlife

Mayor Scott Singer has issued a proclamation declaring that September is Library Card Sign-Up Month in the city and urges all residents to sign up for a library card at the Downtown (400 NW 2nd Ave) or Spanish River (1501 NW Spanish River Blvd) Libraries.

With a library card, you can:

  • Check out, download, or stream over 800,000 items from our Digital Library such as movies, music, eBooks and audiobooks
  • Enjoy education classes for all ages
  • Sign up for book clubs, story times and more
  • Check out unique items such as mobile hotspots, cake pans, chess sets, jigsaw puzzles, Citizen Science Kits, and STEM and Literacy Backpacks
  • Enjoy and check out a diverse collection of physical books, video games, DVDs and music CDs.

Four New Library Card Designs

In celebration of Library Card Sign-Up Month, we are launching four new library card designs featuring Florida wildlife, including manatees, sea turtles, Florida panthers, and herons. Select your favorite design when you sign up for a free card (proof of City of Boca Raton residency required) at either of our libraries.

FAU Loves Libraries Day

The Florida Atlantic University football team is celebrating FAU Loves Libraries Day at their September 10 game against Southeastern Louisiana at 6pm by offering tickets to the game for $5 each for Boca Raton Public Library cardholders!
