All City Events, Programs, Meetings Canceled

City of Boca Raton, Florida Events, Programs, Meetings postponements and cancellations

*Palm Beach County issued an order easing some restrictions for recreation through a phased reopening of parks and other areas to recreate. Within the City of Boca Raton, some parks, municipal golf and boat ramps have reopened, with some limitations and restrictions. View the updated list.

Residents and visitors should continue to adhere to CDC guidelines including social distancing and use of face coverings when social distancing can not be maintained.

The City of Boca Raton is coordinating with all of our community partners while closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation for our area. City staff is continuously assessing and adapting emergency plans for COVID-19 and is implementing mitigation strategies to slow the transmission of the disease, in particular to protect individuals at increased risk for severe illness, including older adults and those with underlying health conditions, as well as the healthcare of critical infrastructure workforces. 

In an abundance of caution, all special events, performances, programs, classes, athletics, clinics, rentals, camps and meetings have been postponed or canceled until further notice. The Police Department has also temporarily suspended citizen fingerprinting at the main police department and mall annex until further notice.

All meetings have been canceled until further notice, including the CRA, Council Workshop and City Council meeting on March 23 and March 24. All meetings of City Boards or Committees and the hearings of the Special Magistrates scheduled for any time between today through Sunday, March 29, 2020, are hereby canceled. Matters scheduled for any meeting or hearing during that time will be rescheduled at such time that the City is no longer under a declared State of Emergency or until other arrangements can be made. Further direction regarding meetings currently scheduled after Sunday, March 29, 2020, will be forthcoming.  ** Virtual meetings began on 4/13/20**

*Today, Tuesday, March 17 is Election Day and all of the Boca Raton Community Centers and libraries are designated polling locations. Libraries and community centers will be closed beginning Wednesday, March 18 until further notice.

Police Services

The Boca Raton Police Department has temporarily suspended citizen fingerprinting at the main police department and mall annex until further notice. The Police Department lobby is closed until further notice.

Essential Services

The City will be operating Critical Infrastructure services only:

  • Fire Rescue Services
  • Water Sewer
  • Sanitation Services (Regular Schedules)
  • Building Department & Inspections

The City will continue to make determinations about future mass assemblies including concerts and large events. In the meantime, according to the CDC guidelines, people who are considered to have a higher risk should take extra precautions to reduce their risk. Currently, those individuals include:

  • Older adults
  • People who have underlying health conditions

If you are in a high-risk category, this may be the time to evaluate your exposure and take all precautions necessary to reduce your chances of getting sick. Be sure to avoid close contact with people who are sick, take everyday precautions like washing your hands and disinfecting your home, avoid large crowds, especially in poorly ventilated areas and take extra measures to put distance between yourself and other people to further reduce your exposure to the virus.
