[ARCHIVED] Boca Raton in the spotlight

Behind the scenes of video shoot with video camera and two people by the beach

Lights, camera, action!

The City of Boca Raton was recently featured on Season 3 of "On the Town in the Palm Beaches," a show where host Frank Licari, focuses on cities and their history, what the locals enjoy, the outdoors/parks, beaches, dining, unique businesses, and of course, great people stories.

Speaking of great people stories...a part of the segment, featured the City's very own Nicole Gasparri, Organizational Program Manager and our #SaturdayFitness Zumba extraordinaire. Nicole has worked with the City for 25 years where she not only acts as the Emergency Manager, but manages internal leadership training, process improvement and other various special projects. On behalf of the City, Nicole has dedicated her Saturdays to the community since 2012 by providing free Zumba classes each week at the South Beach Park Pavilion where 40-60 patrons get active and dance to upbeat tunes while overlooking the beautiful beaches of Boca Raton.

In addition to giving Zumba a shot, Frank gives viewers a little taste of the City's history, dances, eats and shops his way through Downtown Boca and explores Red Reef Park, golf and Gumbo Limbo.

The segment aired on South Florida PBS at the end of March on the tourism related, on demand channel, ThePalmBeaches.TV, which is a designated 24-hour channel in more than 1,000 hotel rooms throughout Palm Beach County. The channel also airs at the Palm Beach Convention Center, Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) in the baggage claim area, and as a designated channel in every cabin of Bahama Cruise Line's Grand Classica ship.
