City Council Selects Deputy Mayor & Passes Resolution for Special Election

City of Boca Raton New Council May 2018

At the May 8 City Council meeting, Council Member Jeremy Rodgers was selected to serve as the Deputy Mayor. Rodgers will serve in that capacity until August 28, when the City holds a special election to fill the vacancy in the office of the Mayor.

Scott Singer, the former Deputy Mayor, is now serving as the Mayor until the special election is held on August 28. The City Council unanimously passed  Resolution No. 69-2018, which provides for the special election to fill the vacancy in the office of the Mayor. That Mayoral term ends in March 2020.

Until the August 28 special election, the Council will operate with four members.
