The City of Boca Raton will be conducting a holiday tree recycling program from December 26 through January 21.
Residents can drop off their “clean” holiday trees at 751 Banyan Trail located adjacent to Mizner Bark Dog Park. The City’s Recreation Services Department will pick up the trees and will chip them into mulch to be used at the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center.
Recycling your Christmas tree is a great way to “extend the life” of your tree. Rather than ending up in a land fill, the recycled tress are converted into mulch that is spread on the pathways of Gumbo Limbo Nature Center’s butterfly garden, said Leanne Welch, Gumbo Limbo Manager.
Each year we get more trees. According to our Park Rangers, we had about 60 trees dropped off last year. Help bring that number up this year!
For additional information please call 561-393-7810.
**Please make sure to remove ALL decorations including lights and tinsel from the tree.**
