On November 14, 2017, The Boca Raton City Council approved Ordinance No. 5410 authorizing the sale of its Municipal Golf Course to G.L. Homes for $65 million dollars. The City may now enter into a sales contract with G.L. Homes.
A closing date is estimated for 18 months but could be sooner, and proceeds from the sale will be deposited into a special fund until there is policy direction on how the money should be spent.
In a public hearing on October 24, 2017, G.L. Acquisitions Corporation and Lennar Homes, LLC, the two finalists who had delivered contracts and deposits to the City, each addressed the Council with final presentations. Ultimately, the City Council chose G.L. Homes and adopted Resolution 130-2017, officially selecting G.L. Homes as the purchaser. The City Council then introduced Ordinance 5410 authorizing the sale of the City-owned Municipal Golf Course to G.L. pursuant to the provisions of G.L.’s revised offer to purchase.
