Mayor Haynie message on Hurricane Irma

As of Tuesday, September 5, Hurricane Irma is now a Category 5 storm. City officials met this morning and have begun preparations.

For now, City services, including sanitation, are operating according to regular schedules through the week, but meeting & event cancellations as well as facility closures are likely. We will update as more information becomes available. 

Important information regarding your preparations:

  • Now is NOT the time to trim your trees.
  • If you haven't done so already, SIGN UP for ALERTS www.myboca.us/BePrepared.
  • Review your emergency plans, including supplies and securing your home & business.
  • Know Your Zone...find your evacuation zone & shelters Palm Beach County's Map (PDF)
  • Print out important phone numbers, including the City's Citizen Information Center (CIC) 561-982-4900
    Once we open the CIC, this is the best non-emergency number for questions. Please do not overwhelm 911.
