Glimpse the many faces of conservation as experts in their fields share their work, research, and experiences, with the common goal of a more sustainable future. Lectures will be held from November through April. This month's lecture topic is sea turtle conservation, by Gumbo Limbo Nature Center's Sea Turtle Conservation Coordinator, David Anderson.

Sea Turtle Nesting in Boca Raton

Discover how our sea turtle conservation team at Gumbo Limbo monitors Boca Raton’s five miles of beach for nesting activity. How many nests have we gotten in the past and what does the future hold? Learn ways you can help and share the beach with these amazing animals.
David Anderson is the Sea Turtle Conservation Coordinator at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. He supervises the collection of sea turtle nesting data along Boca Raton’s beaches and conducts nighttime lighting surveys and monitors beach renourishment project zones. He also leads nighttime turtle walks, hatchling releases, and responds to sea turtle stranding events.
