Resident Collection Guidelines

  • All garbage must be bagged and tied prior to placing it in the container.
  • Never place hazardous materials in the container.
  • All garbage must be completely within the City issued container. Overloaded or overflowing containers, or items in non-City containers, will not be collected.
  • The city-issued container must be placed on edge of curb with the bar on the front facing the street. Containers that are inaccessible with the automated arm will not be collected.
  • Place any containers at least 5 feet away from other containers, bulk material, vegetation, trees, mailboxes, utility poles, parked cars, recycle bins, or any other obstacle. Do not place the container(s) under wires or tree branches.
  • Containers must be placed curbside by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day.
  • The City will not collect bulk items that are not separated from vegetation and will not collect unacceptable materials at any time.
  • Your container must be removed from the swale within 12 hours of collection.
  • The City is not responsible for clean up due to improper disposal of liquids, such as paint or oil.
  • Containers are the property of the City of Boca Raton, and each container is numbered and assigned to a specific address. If the container becomes damaged, lost or stolen call 561-416-3367 for replacement.
  • Do not switch containers with neighbors. If you move, the container must stay at the current address.
