Organized in 1978 to provide safe and affordable low income housing in the City, the Housing Authority now operates as an independent agency. The seven commissioners must be residents of the City or engaged in business in the City, and one must be a resident of one of the subsidized housing projects. The members are appointed to serve 4-year terms.
