2025 Sustainability Plan Update

By responding to the survey you will help the City understand your priorities as they relate to sustainability issues, your ideas on how the City can better address those issues, and make sure that your voice is heard in the planning process.

The City will be seeking input from the community in a variety of ways:

• Fall 2023 - Online Survey
• Winter and Spring 2024 - Community input sessions and town halls
• Winter and Spring 2024 - Workshops with community stakeholder groups
• Spring 2024 - Subject Matter Expert advisory panels

The Office of Sustainability is the lead on developing the Sustainability Action Plan. In addition, representatives from the following City areas are included in the Sustainability Task Force providing input and guidance on actions and goals:

• Development Services
• Municipal Services
• Recreation Services
• Utility Services
• Finance
• Public Art
• Communications
• Emergency Management
• Others as needed

Draft development is beginning in Fall of 2023 and will be complete in the Fall of 2024. 

The final Sustainability Action Plan for 2025-2030 will be presented to Council in Winter of 2024. 

Once adopted, plan implementation will begin. The City will launch a web page to track progress on the plan actions and goals and provide opportunities for residents to engage in implementation.
