Marc Wigder
Biography
Council Member & CRA Chair, Marc Wigder is honored to serve the people of Boca Raton. A first generation American, and son of a Holocaust survivor, he is originally from the northeast. Council Member Wigder and his family moved to Florida in 2005.
Education & Professional Experience
After spending over two decades as a real estate attorney, in-house counsel and investor, Council Member Wigder enrolled in the Yale School of Management’s MBA for Executives Program with a sub-focus on sustainability to further enhance his professional skill acumen and achieved Honors or High Honors in all sustainability related courses, and High Honors for his Masters thesis related to infusing sustainability into real estate portfolios.
Council Member Wigder is the founder and managing principal of the Greenhouse Property Company – a Boca Raton, FL headquartered company which owns and manages a multi-sector real estate portfolio focused on infusing sustainability into commercial real estate projects. Current assets are positioned in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and South regions. He has participated as a sponsor in several transactions over the course of his 25-year career.
Additionally, Council Member Wigder is co-founder GreenSmith Builders, LLC – a Minnesota based sustainable builder. GreenSmith Builders has built and opened a multi-family community in southern Minnesota called PrairiE Lofts. This NetZero ready multifamily complex uses highly efficient structural panel construction and is rated an ultra-efficient complex, winning an award for best SIP sustainable project. Financing included public private partnerships with the municipality, state and traditional lenders and consists of market rate workforce housing. Additional sustainable communities are in the planning stages.
He has written several published articles and opinion pieces for the Yale MBA for Executives Blog as well as local periodicals in New York and South Florida focused on sustainability and current topics.

Family
Council Member Wigder lives with his wife Fran and 3 children, Malcolm, Amelia and Henry in Woodfield Country Club for the past 15 years and is active in many charities. He is a recent cancer survivor and supportive of several cancer related charities as well. He is a runner and cyclist, enjoying the El Rio Trail and all the shared use trails in the City and is excited to help continue the connectivity of shared use trails for residents and visitors to enjoy. Council Member Wigder and his family also enjoy Downtown Boca and Boca Raton’s Bark Beach often with Jake & Shelby. He is honored to serve the great people of Boca Raton.
