The City continues to make necessary preparations to begin the transition of the Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club. The City is excited to continue to deliver world-class recreation through this new facility beginning on November 1, 2021.
On October 14, 2020, Boca Raton City Council members voted unanimously to accept the donation of the Boca Country Club from MSD Partners and Northview Hotel group, owners of the Boca Raton Resort & Club. The donation included a 167-acre complex with an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis and aquatics facilities, and a clubhouse with event space.
The City has been working with the community to develop plans for the complex, create a budget for the management and operations, and develop the user fee schedules before taking ownership starting October 1, 2021. The intention is to offer continuous golf for residents coordinated with the closing of the City's municipal course, which is currently under contract for sale.
City staff held a virtual meeting with residents and board members of the Boca Golf and Tennis Club on August 25, 2021, to discuss the transition of the Boca Raton Golf and Racquet Club. In case you missed it, view the video below.
