I-95 EXPRESS LANES - FDOT PROJECT from south of Glades Rd. to south of Linton Blvd.

  • Scope of Work: 95 Express Lanes Phase 3B-2 will extend the existing Express Lanes north from just south of Glades Road to south of Linton Boulevard in Palm Beach County. One lane will be added and the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane will be converted to create two Express Lanes in each direction; the number of General Use lanes will remain the same. Access to the Express Lanes will be provided via two designated ingress and egress locations—between Glades Road and Spanish River Boulevard and between Yamato Road and Linton Boulevard. The scope of work includes reconfiguration of the SR 808/Glades Road Interchange to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI). Additional project improvements include overhead sign structure installation, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and Express Lane markers, new signalization, lighting, signing and pavement markings and ramp signalization at five interchanges from Glades Road to Linton Boulevard. Shoulder-mounted sound barrier walls will be constructed along I-95 northbound between Clint Moore Road and Linton Boulevard, ground-mounted sound walls will be installed on the south side of Yamato Road east of I-95 adjacent to the University Heights Community and along I-95 northbound south of Linton Boulevard adjacent to the Tierra Verde Community. The Clint Moore Road Bridge over I-95 will be fully reconstructed and the Glades Road bridge over the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) railroad tracks and Military Trail and the I-95 bridge over the C-15 Canal (between Peninsula Drive and Linton Boulevard) will be widened.

    • Tuesday, Jan. 24 through Thursday, Jan. 26 from 11pm - 5am

    • Traffic will be detoured via the northbound exit ramp to SR-808/Glades Road, US-1/Federal Highway and SR-794/Yamato Road
  • I-95 Northbound at Yamato Road Full Nighttime Closure 
    • Tuesday, Jan. 31 from 11pm - 5am
    • Closure due to overhead sign installation
    • Traffic will be detoured via the southbound exit ramp to SR-794/Yamato Road, SR-809/Military Trail and Palmetto Park Road 
  • Westbound Glades Road Full Nighttime Closure
    • Monday, Jan. 23 from 11pm - 5am
    • Closure due to overhead sign installation
    • Westbound traffic will be detoured via Airport Road, Spanish River Boulevard, SR-809/Military Trail and Butts Road
  • To ensure pedestrian safety during bridge construction activities, the north sidewalk of Glades Road from W. University Drive to Executive Center Drive is closed through January 2023. to facilitate the widening of the Glades Road bridges over I-95 and Military Trail. Pedestrian traffic is being detoured to the south sidewalk during this phase of construction. 

Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) Implementation

As part of the DDI implementation, ALL access to and from Glades Road at I-95 will be CLOSED beginning Friday, Jan. 27 at 11pm through Monday, January 30 at 6am. The following closures and detours will be in effect. 

  • I-95 Southbound Entrance Ramp from Eastbound Glades Road - Motorists will be detoured via Butts Road, Town Center Road, SR-809/Military Trail and Palmetto Park Road.
  • I-95 Southbound Entrance Ramp from Westbound Glades Road - Motorists will be detoured via Airport Road and SR-794/Yamato Road.
  • I-95 Northbound Entrance Ramp from Eastbound Glades Road Motorists will be detoured via Butts Road, SR-809/Military Trail and SR-794/Yamato Road.
  • I-95 Northbound Entrance Ramp from Westbound Glades Road - Motorists will be detoured via Airport Road and SR-794/Yamato Road
  • I-95 Southbound Exit Ramp to Glades Road - Motorists will be detoured via SR-9/I-95 southbound and Palmetto Park Road. SR-808/Glades Road east traffic will travel north on SR-5/Federal Highway. SR-808/Glades Road west traffic will travel north on SR-809/Military Trail and Butts Road.
  • I-95 Northbound Exit Ramp to Glades Road - Motorists will be detoured via SR-9/I-95 northbound and SR-794/Yamato Road. SR-808/Glades Road east traffic will travel south on US-1/N. Federal Highway and SR-808/Glades Road west traffic will travel south on SR-809/Military Trail and Butts Road.
  • Westbound Glades Road at I-95 - Motorists will be detoured via Airport Road, Spanish River Boulevard, SR-809/Military Trail, and Butts Road.
  • Eastbound Glades Road at I-95 - Motorists will be detoured via Butts Road, Town Center Road, SR-809/Military Trail, Palmetto Park Road, and SR-5/N. Federal Highway.

Clint Moore Road Impact

The two inside lanes of the Clint Moore Road bridge over I-95 are open to traffic. The outside lanes remain closed to facilitate minor drainage work, paving and fencing operations. To ensure public safety, pedestrian and cyclist access will not be permitted until the outside lanes are reopened, currently anticipated early January 2023.
