I-95 EXPRESS LANES - FDOT PROJECT from south of Glades Rd. to south of Linton Blvd.

Additional information including updated traffic restrictions, progress photos and detour flyers are available on the FDOT project page.

  • Agency: FDOT
  • Proposed Start / End Date: 11/7/19 - Late 2023
  • Hours of Work: Ongoing | View closures for specific hours
  • Type of Closure: Partial & Full Closures
  • Scope of Work: 95 Express Lanes Phase 3B-2 will extend the existing Express Lanes north from just south of Glades Road to south of Linton Boulevard in Palm Beach County. One lane will be added and the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane will be converted to create two Express Lanes in each direction; the number of General Use lanes will remain the same. Access to the Express Lanes will be provided via two designated ingress and egress locations—between Glades Road and Spanish River Boulevard and between Yamato Road and Linton Boulevard. The scope of work includes reconfiguration of the SR 808/Glades Road Interchange to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI). Additional project improvements include overhead sign structure installation, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and Express Lane markers, new signalization, lighting, signing and pavement markings and ramp signalization at five interchanges from Glades Road to Linton Boulevard. Shoulder-mounted sound barrier walls will be constructed along I-95 northbound between Clint Moore Road and Linton Boulevard, ground-mounted sound walls will be installed on the south side of Yamato Road east of I-95 adjacent to the University Heights Community and along I-95 northbound south of Linton Boulevard adjacent to the Tierra Verde Community. The Clint Moore Road Bridge over I-95 will be fully reconstructed and the Glades Road bridge over the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) railroad tracks and Military Trail and the I-95 bridge over the C-15 Canal (between Peninsula Drive and Linton Boulevard) will be widened.

The Glades Road DDI at I-95 opened in final configuration on Monday morning, April 3, 2023 – almost a month ahead of the original projected completion date of May 1, 2023.

Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) Implementation

  • The final configuration features 4 westbound lanes and 4 eastbound lanes, including a dedicated and dual/through turn lane to the I-95 northbound entrance ramp.
  • Please be aware that daily off-peak lane closures within the DDI area may still be required to finalize grading, sod placement, pond excavation, pull box adjustments, and drainage within the pond areas.
  • Nightly lane closures will also occur as needed for placement of thermoplastic elements.
  • All outstanding items are scheduled to be completed by May 1, 2023.
  • FDOT’s Traffic Operations team will continue to work closely with the City of Boca’s Traffic Management Center and Traffic Engineering division to observe and optimize signal timing.

For the most recent closures, visit FDOT's project webpage.

Clint Moore Road Impact

The two inside lanes of the Clint Moore Road bridge over I-95 are open to traffic. The outside lanes remain closed to facilitate minor drainage work, paving and fencing operations. To ensure public safety, pedestrian and cyclist access will not be permitted until the outside lanes are reopened, currently anticipated early January 2023.
