Spanish River Boulevard Bridge Painting

Starting August 12, 2019 with an estimated completion date in early 2020, the Spanish River Blvd Bridge over the Intracoastal will experience lane closures. Scope of work includes sandblasting the existing paint and repainting the steel bridge structure, repairing and rehabilitating the bridge span locks, and replacing the bridge piling jackets. Single lane closures are permitted daily as follows:

  • Lane closures may occur daily and nightly, Monday through Sunday, with the following exceptions:
    • Westbound lane closures are not permitted 7am - 9am
    • Eastbound lane closures are not permitted 2:30pm - 7pm

The plans also allow for four (4) weekends of full closures so the bridge may be locked in the upright position. The dates for these closures are not confirmed at this time.

Road Work

Crown Castle Fiber, LLC contractor will be installing directional bore 2” HDPE conduit. Crown Castel Fiber, LLC contractor will commence this project on 1/15/2020 through 1/17/2020.

MOT Permit schedule: Eastbound on SE 7th St between S Dixie Hwy to S Federal Hwy (Install (1) 2” HDPE Conduit via Directional bore) from 01/15/2020 to 01/17/2020.

  • Daytime operation 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Pedestrian detours will be coordinated with by the MOT employees on site
  • Control Devices may need to be adjusted to fit field conditions
  • The scheduled work can be affected by weather

Utility Services

Utility Services Department contractor will be installing new 8-inch DIP water main along east right of way line under sidewalk from NE 28th St to NE 32nd St. At the intersection with NE 28th St, install stub 8-inch DIP water main stub southward and 16-inch DIP water main northward to the north side of NW 28 St, crossing under the pavement to the west side of the right of way. Utility Services Department contractor will commence this project on 01/06/20 through 01/18/20.

  • Daytime operation 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (M-F)
  • Pedestrian detours will be coordinated with by the MOT employees on site
  • Control Devices may need to be adjusted to fit field conditions
  • The scheduled work can be affected by weather

FPL Pole Replacement Project

I-95 EXPRESS LANES - FDOT PROJECT from SW 10th Street to south of Glades Rd.

I-95 Traffic Impacts

I-95 will have three lanes closed in each direction nightly, as needed, Sunday through Thursday, between SW 10th Street and Glades Road, with the first lane closing at 9:30pm, the second lane closing at 10:30pm, and the third lane closing at 11:30pm until 5:30am.

Palmetto Park Road Traffic Impact

 As part of the I-95 Express Phase 3B-1:

  • Palmetto Park Road at I-95 will have two lanes closed in each direction nightly, as needed, Sunday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., and the second lane will close at 10:30 p.m. All lanes will be opened by 5:30 a.m.
  • Palmetto Park Road at I-95 will have one lane closed in each direction daily, as needed, 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Camino Real Traffic Impacts

  • Camino Real at I-95 will have one lane closed in each direction daily, as needed, 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Ramp Impacts

  • The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via I-95 northbound, Hillsboro Boulevard, and Military Trail. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from westbound Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via Military Trail and Hillsboro Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from eastbound Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via Military Trail and Hillsboro Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The northbound entrance ramp from eastbound and westbound Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 southbound to Hillsboro Boulevard to I-95 northbound.

FDOT Public Open House - 95 Express Lanes (Glades Rd to Linton Blvd)

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a Public Meeting and Construction Open House for this project at the Spanish River Library, 1501 NW Spanish River Boulevard, Boca Raton, FL 33431 on January 15, 2020..

The meeting will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm A formal presentation is scheduled at 6 pm with a Question & Answer Session immediately following. Members of the project team will be available to answer specific questions. No work on the Glades Road Interchange will begin until after the Public Meeting is held.

  • The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from westbound Glades Road will be closed nightly as needed for paving, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, beginning Dec. 19. Motorists will be detoured via Powerline Road and Jog Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from eastbound Glades Road will be closed nightly as needed for paving, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, beginning Dec. 19. Motorists will be detoured via US-1. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from westbound Glades Road will be closed nightly as needed for paving, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, beginning Dec. 19. Motorists will be detoured via Powerline Road and Jog Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from eastbound Glades Road will be closed nightly as needed for paving, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, beginning Dec. 19. Motorists will be detoured via US-1. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
