Pavement Resurfacing

All County Pavement Management Solutions will be working on NW 2nd Ave between Glades Rd and Yamato Rd milling and resurfacing project. Contractor will commence this project on Monday September 9 through Friday, October 4, 2019. Approved lane closures will be permitted between the hours of 9am - 4pm, Monday through Friday.

Palm Beach County

Old Dixie Highway from south of SW 18th Street to Glades Road will be resurfaced. Tentative start date is Wednesday, September 18 (weather and schedule permitting) with an estimated work duration of approximately 20 days. This will be night time operations with temporary lane closures.

Spanish River Boulevard Bridge Painting

Starting August 12, 2019 with an estimated completion date in early 2020, the Spanish River Blvd Bridge over the Intracoastal will experience lane closures. Scope of work includes sandblasting the existing paint and repainting the steel bridge structure, repairing and rehabilitating the bridge span locks, and replacing the bridge piling jackets. Single lane closures are permitted daily as follows:

  • Lane closures may occur daily and nightly, Monday through Sunday, with the following exceptions:
    • Westbound lane closures are not permitted 7am - 9am
    • Eastbound lane closures are not permitted 2:30pm - 7pm

The plans also allow for four (4) weekends of full closures so the bridge may be locked in the upright position. The dates for these closures are not confirmed at this time.

  • Full closures may begin at 5am Saturday morning, ending by 5am the following Monday morning.
    • The eastbound lanes are expected to be closed:
      • 5am Saturday, October 5, until 5am Monday, October 7
      • 5am Saturday, October 19, until 5am Monday, October 21
    • The westbound lanes are expected to be closed:
      • 5am Saturday, October 12, until 5am Monday, October 14
      • 5am Saturday, October 26, until 5am Monday, October 28
    • Motorists may detour northbound via Linton Boulevard
    • Motorists may detour southbound via Palmetto Park Road
    • Pedestrian and first responder access will be maintained at all times
    • Should inclement weather affect operations, the closure will be rescheduled for the following weekend until completed

Road Work

The frontage road on the west side of the Spanish River Boulevard Bridge is currently closed directly under the bridge and along the north side of Spanish River Boulevard until further notice.

  • The frontage road along the southwest side of Spanish River Boulevard is open to allow for access to the condominiums, but closed directly at the bridge.
  • The frontage road along the northwest side of Spanish River Boulevard is closed completely from the westbound access point from Spanish River Boulevard to the bridge. Westbound motorists can U-turn at US 1 to head eastbound to access the frontage road on the south side of Spanish River Boulevard.

The frontage road repairs will be managed locally out of the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) District Four Maintenance Office.

FPL Pole Replacement Project

NE 7th Ave between Jeffery St and Coventry St

FPL will be installing concrete poles and transferring all FPL facilities. FPL Contractor (Irby Construction) will commence this project on 10/14/19 through 11/07/19.

MOT Permit schedule:

  1. Jeffery St at NE 7th Ave (1 concrete pole to be set) = 10/14 to 10/15
  2. NE 7th Ave between Jeffery St and Glouchester St (3 concrete poles to be set) = 10/16 to 10/18
  3. NE 7th Ave between Jeffery St and Glouchester St (4 concrete poles to be set) = 10/21 to 10/23
  4. NE 7th Ave between Glouchester St and Forsyth St (2 concrete poles to be set) = 10/24 to 10/28
  5. NE 7th Ave between Forsyth St and Enfield St (2 concrete poles to be set) = 10/29 to 10/31
  6. NE 7th Ave between Enfield St and Dover St (2 concrete poles to be set) = 11/1 to 11/4
  7. NE 7th Ave between Dover St and Coventry St (2 concrete poles to be set) = 11/5 to 11/7
  • Daytime operation 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Pedestrian detours will be coordinated with by the MOT employees on site

FAU Blvd and Spanish River Trail

FPL will be installing directional bores and pulling cables. FPL Contractor will commence this project on 10/07/19 through 11/08/19.

MOT Permit schedule:

  1. FAU Blvd and Spanish River Trail (Directional Boring) = 10/7/19 to 10/26/19
  2. FAU Blvd and Spanish River Trail (Cable Pulling) = 10/28/19 to 11/1/19
  3. FAU Blvd and Spanish River Trail (Energizing Cable = 11/4/19 to 11/8/19
  • Nighttime operation 9:00 pm – 6:00 am
  • Pedestrian detours will be coordinated with by the MOT employees on site
  • Control Devices may need to be adjusted to fit field conditions

I-95 EXPRESS LANES - FDOT PROJECT from SW 10th Street to south of Glades Rd.

I-95 Traffic Impacts

I-95 will have three lanes closed in each direction nightly, as needed, Sunday through Thursday, between SW 10th Street and Glades Road, with the first lane closing at 9:30pm, the second lane closing at 10:30pm, and the third lane closing at 11:30pm until 5:30am.

Road Closure: I-95 southbound lanes at Palmetto Park Road will be closed to traffic overnight Sunday night, August 11 through Tuesday night, August 13 for overhead road work north of the SW 18th Street overpass. The first lane will close at 9:30pm, the second lane will close at 10:30pm, the third lane will close at 11:30pm, and all lanes will be closed by 11:59pm, reopening at 5:30am. Traffic will be detoured via the I-95 southbound exit ramp to Palmetto Park Road, Military Trail and Hillsboro Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.

Palmetto Park Road Traffic Impact

 As part of the I-95 Express Phase 3B-1:

  • Palmetto Park Road at I-95 will have two lanes closed in each direction nightly, as needed, Sunday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., and the second lane will close at 10:30 p.m. All lanes will be opened by 5:30 a.m.
  • Palmetto Park Road at I-95 will have one lane closed in each direction daily, as needed, 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Camino Real Traffic Impacts

  • Camino Real at I-95 will have one lane closed in each direction daily, as needed, 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Ramp Impacts

  • Full Weekend Ramp Closure Advanced Notice: The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Palmetto Park Road will undergo a full, around-the-clock closure, from 5 a.m. Saturday morning, October 12 through 5 a.m., Monday morning, October 14 for ramp reconstruction. Traffic will be detoured via the northbound exit ramp to Hillsboro Boulevard west, Military Trail and Palmetto Park Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via I-95 northbound, Hillsboro Boulevard, and Military Trail. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from westbound Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via Military Trail and Hillsboro Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from eastbound Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via Military Trail and Hillsboro Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The northbound entrance ramp from eastbound and westbound Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 southbound to Hillsboro Boulevard to I-95 northbound.
