Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year for city-sponsored special events. Download the volunteer form and return to address listed. Please refer to the following list of special events and a brief description of volunteer duties for each event.

CITY OF BOCA RATON EVENT VOLUNTEER DUTIES

GREENMARKET (Children's Museum event):
DUTIES: Staff Information Booth. Assist vendors with set-up/location/registration. (Note: Event may be used by Key Clubs for fund raising activities.)

HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING (Held at Mizner Park Amphitheater):
DUTIES: Distribute gift bags to children. Assist with Santa photos of children. Assist with children’s crafts, snow play area, toy display area, assist with clean up following event..

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA (Children's Museum event):
DUTIES: Serve coffee, juice, pancakes, sausages and assist in maintaining dining area. Assist with
children’s games, crafts, snow play area, museum tours, Santa photos.

HOLIDAY PARADE:
DUTIES: Carry opening and closing banners. Carry sponsor banners. Escort Santa. March along with
banner carriers and Santa’s escort, passing out trinkets to spectators. Event is televised. Strict dress code: no shorts, cut-off jeans, tank tops or flip flops. Proper dress is dark blue or black pants with white shirt or blouse (or t-shirt provided by City).Participants must arrive 6pm at information booth.

CHILDREN’S WINTER FAIR (Held at Patch Reef Park, 2000 Yamato Rd):
DUTIES: Assist with set-up and tear down. Assist with children’s games and crafts. Staff information booth.

DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY (Held at Mizner Park Amphitheater):
DUTIES: Assist with set-up and tear down of booths. Assist in preparation, cooking and/or serving hot dogs, water, soda and snacks.

CHILDREN’S SPRING FAIR (Held at Patch Reef Park, 2000 Yamato Rd):
DUTIES: Assist with set-up and tear down. Assist with children’s games and crafts. Staff information booth.

KIDSFEST (Children's Museum event):
DUTIES: Staff entrance gate. Assist with children’s games, crafts, face painting, children’s rides.
Assist with museum tours and sales. Assist Kiwanis with preparation and sale of food and
beverage items.  Assist with tear down at close of event

SPRING FLING (Held at Children’s Museum, 498 Crawford Blvd):
DUTIES: Assist with set-up and tear down. Staff children’s game and craft activities. Distribute prizes to children participating in activities. Distribute “goody bags” and brochures.

ON-CALL:
DUTIES: Perform various office duties, including computer tasks. Schedules established on an individual basis.

MORIKAMI MUSEUM EVENTS:

DUTIES: Volunteers who sign up for each event will be called and a special application will be sent; a confirmation letter will be returned to each volunteer with information as to when and where to report and what the job will be.

IMPORTANT: All student volunteers MUST adhere to a dress code: SCHOOL SHIRTS OR SCHOOL T-SHIRTS or special event shirts if provided; tan or dark blue or black pants or dress jeans; tennis shoes or similar sneaker-type. NO OPEN-TOED SHOES, FLIP FLOPS OR SANDALS.
