Closed the first Monday of the month for super chlorination. In the month of September, super chlorination is moved to the second Monday.
Closed Thanksgiving Day, December 25th, and January 1st.

* The pool opens late on one Saturday in June for a home swim meet. Spectators are welcome. |
Meadows Park Pool offers the following features to all members and visitors

- Portable Aquatic Lift (PAL) provides a 300-pound lifting capacity (meets ADA guidelines)
- Deck Lighting for evening swimming
The highly-qualified staff is certified through American Red Cross in Lifeguarding/First Aid, CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, Water Safety Instruction (WSI), and Administering Emergency Oxygen (O2). A Special Needs Certification is also held by swim lesson instructors. |

LIFEGUARDING:
This course will prepare the participant to recognize and cope effectively with the challenges that face lifeguards today. First Aid, CPR, textbooks and pocket mask are included in. Candidates must pass the preliminary swim test of 300 yards. Call the pool office to register.

| Adaptive Aquatics |
SWIM LESSONS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Adaptive Aquatics is a one-on-one swim program for children and adults with special needs. This program is designed to help teach participants how to become more comfortable in the water while learning essential swimming techniques in a fun environment. Each session consists of eight 30-minutes lessons, to be scheduled once per week for eight weeks. This program is available at both pools.

| Deep Water Fitness |
Deep water classes provide an opportunity to receive a cardiovascular workout without impact on the joints. When suspended up to the chest in water, 75% - 90% of the body weight is cancelled. Water buoyancy supports your weight and moving through the water provides resistance, which in turn strengthens the muscles. This program is held at Meadows Park Pool.
- Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (class will be held at the Swim
Center on the first Monday of each month)

For those who dare to watch their own swimming technique, staff will film, edit, and format patrons’ swimming onto a DVD. In addition to the DVD, stroke analysis will be provided by a qualified staff member. This program is available at both pools.

Races
BIATHLON
- Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Meadows Park Pool
- 1000-Yard Swim and
5K Run
Race begins at 7:00 am. Check-in is from 6:15 am to 6:45 am.
Details
- The Biathlon consists of a 1000 yard swim (0.6 miles), followed by a 5K run (3.1 miles). 1000 yards in the 25-yard long pool is 20 laps or 40 lengths.
- A warm up period in the water will be permitted from 6:15 am to 6:45 am (during check-in).
- The race consists of two heats - the first at 7:00 am and the second at 7:30 am. Heats will be assigned at check-in. There will be 18 participants in each heat. Water stations will be provided along the course.
- Two swimmers will share each lane and swim on the same side of the pool (no circle swimming).
- Each lane will be provided with someone to count numbers of laps swum. Counters will signal each swimmer when he or she has 50 yards remaining. There is no diving allowed. All swimmers will start in the water. No fins, paddles, or pull buoys will be permitted during the swim.
- The race fee includes admission, a t-shirt, race pack, water bottle, swim cap, and refreshments the morning of the race. These items will be distributed at check-in the morning of the race.
- Awards will be given to the top 3 female and top 3 male finishers. Participants will also be entered into a raffle to win airline tickets with Spirit Airlines! Raffle drawings and award presentations will take place after the race.
- In the event of inclement weather, the race will be called off and everyone will be asked to clear the course and pool area immediately.
